With youth state a few short weeks away I'm just curious what your club pays for if a wrestler make it to Madison? We pay coaches hotel, gas and give them food money. Wrestlers pay all their own expenses. Just trying to get a feel of what others do that we don't. Maybe steal some ideas to make it a better experience for our wrestlers.
Thanks

Our club reimburses the youth wrestlers state entry fee and cost of the USA Card.  Also reimburses 4 coaches for there USA Coaches card.

All wrestlers families pay their own expenses for tournament fee, hotel, USA Card, etc.

If we have a non parent volunteer coach we have reimbursed them for their room (2 nights).

The club at one time paid for wrestler's state entry fee but it was voted to no longer do that at club meeting (motion was made and seconded by state qualifying wrestler parents actually) to make sure all wrestlers get equal value from club monies/activities.

Every kid getting equal value is what I'm worried about if we start buying USA cards.

Eau Claire Club pays for all coach expenses.  Wrestlers expenses are responsibility of their parents.  Our club does pay for a tournament t-shirt for each wrestler.

Our club pays for everyones USA card that goes to regionals. Generally between 25 and 35 wrestler average over  the last 8 years.  Parents cover their own costs for state.

Shawano pays for USA card of those who participate at regionals.....last year parents of each state qualifier received $300 to cover costs.  Shawano had 8 qualifiers last year.
It is a year to year thing....It all depends on how much is in the account...how many qualifiers...ect

Oh...Padre and Chargerdad......we also hand out 5,000 to kids going to camps in the summer.  We also bought two new mats the past two years.

Hopefully this will generate some major interest there.

What do you do for fundraising?

BIEBS

We charge $35 per kid (which you get back if you participate at regionals)
We host a high school tournament in December and a youth tournament the day after.  That is where the majority of the money is raised.
We also host about 3-4 Friday night duels or scrambles in which we invite 3-4 youth teams over.....at no charge...we only charge spectators.

Like I said...most of the money is raised from our two early tournaments.  The past 2 years we have given out 5k to kids to go to camps in the summer.  Parents last year received $300 each and we had 8 state qualifiers....last year we also paid for regional registration and gave them their $35 bucks back (usa card) and we bought two mats the last two years.

we had 80 kids register for our youth program this year....I'm expecting about 25 at Regionals....last year we had 21.

West de pere pays for coaching cards and hotel for coaches at state. Wrestler expenses are the responsibility of the parents.
