Looking forward to this match.  Two pretty even teams, love Borelli and what he has been able to do at C. Mich. even if they have been down the last few years. Noticed it was a Thurs. match at CMU, an odd day and on the road.

This is not a typical David and Goliath match-up.

I thought this match might be available online somewhere.  Don't remember if it was ESPN3 or not.

According to the CMU website it is on ESPN3 but I cannot find on the ESPN3 website.

This is a match up the badgers could get 6-7 wins, and a great boost going into the tournament time.

Micah

125 Fleetwood- has not wrestled lately
133 Keener
141 Horan
149 Oliver
157 Smith
165 Atienza
174 Ottinger
184 Ellingwood
197 Lewis
285 Smercheck

125 WI 6-0 Not sure why Fleetwood has been out if fully healthy I would pick CMU
133 WI 9-0
141 WI 9-4
149 WI 9-7
157 CMU 11-9
165 WI 13-11
174 CMU 14-13 going to be a 1 pt match either way Ottinger has been better this year
184 WI 16-14 another tight one
197 WI 19-14 toss up ride the momentum?
285 WI 22-14

Micah, I like your thinking and hoping it is true but is see it 15-19 UW with a tough loss on the road. I think they need to show up hungry and wrestle at a high level to pull off the victory. If they come with upsets in mind and are aggressive they could get the 19-15 win but if they are flat it could be a train wreck, 6-30.

Get ready Bucky and go get them!

Micah

I am not to sure about 184 or 197 I do think the Badgers get HWT.  I also agree that on the road on a Thursday night could cause some really funky things to happen and would not be surprised by a UW loss, but they would really have to crap the bed to go down 30-6.

I would think Brock can get that one. At 197, Lewis is 15-14 right now, at 84 Ellingwood is 24-11

Lunatic Fringe

This could fair to be a very close and exciting dual or it could get out of hand for either team. Lots of swing matches 125, 149, 184, 197, 285. (Panel Rankings)

125: Jimenez dec #21 Fleetwood 3-0 (JJ continues to prove he belongs in the top 20)
133: #16 Taylor dec #26Keener 6-0 (Last year I would have said Bonus)
141: #16 Horan MD Rowh/Grahek 6-4 (Would like to see Rowh or Grahek separate themselves)
149: #33 Crone dec #12 Heffernan 9-4 (Continues to climb)
157: #11 Smith MD Ruschell 9-8
165: #2 Jordan dec Atienza 12-8
174: #9 Otinger dec #25 Robertson 12-11 (Would like to get some faith back in RR)
184: #31 Christensen dec #32 Ellingwood 15-11 (Big time Swing Match)
197: Lewis dec Pessig 15-14
285: #33 Horwath dec Smercheck 18-14 (Hate to see a WI homer lose)

GO BUCKY!

RollTide

Isn't this the Horan that Jesse Thielke wrestled at the Dapper Dan?  If I remember correctly, JT beat him pretty good, maybe 8-1.  Not trying to make a point, just curious.

lizard king

Your right, I picked 18-15 earlier.  I look forward to this dual.  CMU is an interesting place to wrestle at so, if the Badgers get down early it could get tough.  !49 will be very interesting, but I would for sure pick Horwarth at 285.

They wrestled in youth or cadets and pretty sure Horan won.  Horan was an AA in 2014 I believe.
