Alumni, Friends and Family,
Season Kickoff-Cookout Friday October 16
On Friday, October 16 the Badger Coaches and athletes will host a season kickoff-cookout at the Kalscheur Farm. This will begin at 6pm with a social time, which will include drinks and food. The Badger Coaching Staff will give everyone a preview for the season along with what is happening with the Wisconsin Regional Training Center, the Badger Wrestling Club and the Wisconsinwrestlingnetwork.com social media plan. This will also be an opportunity for you to meet many of the Badger Wrestling Team members.

The cost of event is $50 per person.  We will be limiting the number of participants to no more than 150 in order to make sure we can get everyone inside the renovated barn. If you are planning on attending please let us know to help us plan for the food and drinks. You can register by responding to this e-mail or by going to the link below and paying by credit card.

At 12:01am on Oct 1 the wisconsinwrestlingnetwork.com will go live. We are working on content for the site. We will cover several aspects of wrestling that are important to the State and the Badger Wrestling Program. Please contact us if you have some ideas that would benefit our efforts. If this is something you would be willing to volunteer some time to help develop and maintain please contact us. This social media effort will include website, facebook and twitter. We are excited on where this can go in our efforts to reach and communicate with the wrestling community.

Wrestle-offs
Badger Team wrestle-off are scheduled for Saturday October 24 at 4pm in the UW Field House. More on that as we get closer to the date.

As we develop the content for the wisconsinwrestlingnetwork.com website we are asking for your input. If there is something you would like to have us cover, please call or respond to this e-mail. We have already received input from guys on the team. We are planning on providing short technique videos along with some tips for off the mat issues that we all face as coaches. If you have examples of issues you have faced and have successfully handled, or are looking for help, please let us know. If we can help we will and if not we will reach out to people who have expertise. You can remain anonymous if you want.

RTC practice
The Wisconsin Regional Training Center is planning on hosting a pre-season camp on Saturday October 24 from 9:30-11:30am and 1-3pm. This will be followed at 4pm with the Badger Team wrestle-offs. Will provide more detail in the next few weeks. Coaches and RTC qualified athletes are encouraged to attend.

Congratulations
Congratulations to UW Eau Claire and to Tim Fader for being named as the new Head Coach for the UWEC Wrestling program. If his success at UW Lacrosse and UW Whitewater is an indication of what will happen at UWEC, we will see them as a Division III national contender in the near future.
