Mcgugh wins a close one at 106
Verhasselt gets a pin at 195
35 -  26 bonus points will be the deciding factor in this dual.
Either of these teams should be able to beat Ellsworth.
Hey!  You misspelled "neither"..😅

NOPIN projects

LC  Freedom
42 - 30

(68% confidence in LC)

That dual score is likely high for both teams, since outstanding programs do a better job than your average team of limiting bonus points and having fewer forfeits.  NOPIN is calibrated to the overall average WI high school dual.

FinalWord, must be a Ellsworth fan. Funny stuff!!
Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie!

NOPIN predicts the correct winner 63% of the time when the NOPIN favorite is given a 60-69% chance of winning.

So your saying theres a chance

I would think there would be some weight class changes too. Good preview of what is to come at sectionals.

NOPIN had this dual at 45-28.  Ended 44-28.  That's pretty impressive.

Are you thinking LC/Coleman?  They wrestled last night.  NOPIN had it at 44-28 and it ended up 45-28.

LC/Freedom wrestle tomorrow and NOPIN predicts it will end 42-30.

That sound you hear is me dropping a mic and walking out of the building.

Please don't start posting NOPIN's horrendous misses.  Just its best hits like this would be fine  ;D

31-28 LC. Exciting match to be at. Wrestling needs more duals like this.

What happened in the 152# match, that pin would seem the difference. What was the score at the time of the pin?

TurkRide

It was a 1 point match at the time of the pin

Well Said.   It was a great dual between the two best teams in division 2.  They will do it all over again in a few weeks in the same gym for team sectionals.

152 was a great match.  Peters was winning heading into the third, but vandenbush got the pin.  These two could see each other a few more times (pulaski, team sectionals, sectionals, state).

It was an amazing dual! The energy was high, the stands were packed. The pin at 152# ended up being huge. It would have been interesting to see how the criteria would have come out had Peters gotten off his back and the dual ended in a tie. Both teams would have had same number of wins, pins/forfeits, and majors.

It's just too bad that these two teams are going to meet in the semi-finals at team sectionals. It would have made for one heck of a closing dual with state on the line.
