Picked the littleguy up last night. I couldnt get the littleguy away from his new mother!!!!

Now that everyone is gone, I will be taking a well deserved nap with the new guy ;D

Great bonding opportunity!  I did that with our puppy the first day and she has picked me as her "pack leader" ever since.

I slept on the kitchen floor next to his kennel the first night. He's snoozing right by me as I type this. :) Best friend.

MY big guy isnt quite sure of the new little  puppy. He gives me the "really" I have to raise another child look.

Vinnie,,,is a shifty one to say the least. He look alot like a bulldog with the ego to match.

He will go into his littler box to releive himself but I have to put him in there. He likes to crap all the time but thankfully he goes on the hardwoods so it isnt to bad :o

He is a cutie. Plus since I am going to youth state this weekend to coach my daughter is bringing over her 2 dogs and is staying the weekend and puppy training. Should be an interesting one for her ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I went against every thing I believe and bought a kennel for the puppy. I was gone today for 5 hours and the puppy held it and didnt mess in his kennel. I think we can train this one ;D

I know people will say that kennels are good for dogs but I still cannt help being sad when I see that little face behind those bars :'(

Man that little dog has 1 gear and it is straight ahead!!!!!!!!!!!

The littleguy has sharp teeth and I have marks on the ankles and feet to prove it.

I have noticed that the old one (digger) is taking a big brother approach to him. He guards the littleguy when they run in the yard. If the little ones is eating to often the big one goes over and pushes him out of the dish.

The old and much bigger dog puts up with everything but the bit he received to his Johnson that the little one gave him the other day. I watched the whole thing,,,,,,the new guy walked under Digger, jumped up and bit!!!!!!!! Man-o-man was there a bark!!!! The little pup knew he did something wrong and ran for cover and hid there for a bit until Digger got him out of the spot to stare him down. Needless to say the pup hasnt bit him there since ;D

Side note: the little puppy has been going into his litter box on his own. Only 1 accident in the past 2 days so it is getting better ;D

My wife and I are sitting here laughing at your description of the "biting incident."   ;D  If Digger didn't bite back, he's a saint!   8)

Puppyhood is great; but it does test a person.

One day I was coming down the stairs and slipped in a pile he had laid on the stairs. I slipped and fell backward, my back sliding through the dookie as I slid down the stairs. Thumpadumpadumpadumpadump!!

I think that was the last time he crapped in the house. He's looking right at me, now. If he could read my mind, he'd be showing fear.

How fitting that the opening of baseball season is heralded in with a story about "sliding into t'ird."  Safe!    ;D

He did NOT bit back but when the littleguy gets close their is an awfull snarl that comes out of diggers mouth!!!!! In 11 years I have never heard that snarl until now.

Yes puppy hood can test the limits. Vinnie (the new puppy) has regressed on the potty training. But he seems to take a dookie by his little box in the utility room. I find that strange that he sneaks in there, goes to the little box and lays down the business right by the box. Not sure if that means he is getting close or in some parall world he is testing my nerves?

though he is fun, likes to play like a tough guy ;D

fish,,,,you would have to see both dogs and you and your wife would continue to laugh until you hurt.

An 80 lber that is a speciman of toughness and this rather tootie rolled 10 lber with sharp little teeth and a "I did nothing" look.

I hear ya'.  Pets are a wealth of companionship and entertainment.  Our little dog has spent almost all of her 2 years trying to make friends with our cat, whom is nearly 5 and very set in her ways.  The dog keeps dancing around the cat and whimpering, trying to get her to play.  Meanwhile, the cat hisses, growls, and tries to land a punch, but the dog's just too quick for her.  Occasionally, the cat will chase the dog for about 15 ft., which is interpreted as "playing" by the dog and only encourages her efforts.  There is progress, however, since they can now be in the same room and even occasionally nap a few feet apart.  They are even sharing a water dish.  I don't think that pup's going to give up until the cat is her best friend.

My old guy (digger) is being very supportive. I watched them outside today.

It reminded me of the Tom and Jerry chartoon with Spike and the little puppy.

Digger goes out in the yard and then stops and lets the littleguy catch up and dance around him. Then Digger moves to the driveway and sits and watches the cars go by all the while the littleguy dances around him and after some time Digger comes back to the house, I let them in and then Digger lays down in the sunlight and gives the eye to the littleguy and the littleguy joins him for some rest in the sun.

Good times!!!!!!!! Just hanging with the boys is making this snow on the ground very easy to enjoy,,,,at least for some time ;)

Glad they're pals. Snow is one thing. I could do without the mud.

Tell me about it.  They just put a new steel roof on my house.  In order to work safely, they plowed a big circle around my house.  Now I am surrounded by a moat of mud.
