i would expect Gliniecki to drop to 120 also and have Wenzel or Kauffman go to 126... but i could be wrong, Stratford might put in a good freshman at 120.

Should be a good tournament. I would say Kauffman would be the favorite at 126 if he goes there...but i could be wrong about that.

.Its really hard to predict alot of the wt classes at this tourney along with the other holiday tournies because you dont know who will drop and who wont now that the 2lb growth allowance will kick in.Although not able to drop mine says 2lbs is the best christmas gift he is getting! ;).Bi state is and always will be my favorite tournament besides state to watch, get all 3 divisions together and let them battle it out!!!!!

Lor has a good shot at 120lb, but there will be a ton of ranked wrestlers at 120lb, really tough weight class this year.  It'll depend on who drops to 113lb.  Many (Lor included) appear to have Skinfolded for 113.  And some tough guys at 126 will probably drop.  I'd expect Dischler and glinecki to be at 120lb. Should be exciting!

Wisco113,I have to disagree with who you think will win the 120 Lb bracket the winner of this bracket will be a very talented sophmore by the name of Jaden Van Maanen he will be on the top of the podium this year.He is battle tested and primed and ready to take this bracket.

I'll agree with you on this one . Jaden is a solid wrestler in every position. It's going to be a close match but I think Jaden should handle him just fine.

I would have to pick Dischler based on size and speed alone.  It'll be a tough road for both just to make it to the finals though.  Good luck to all the wrestlers!

Maybe there was a mistake?? most likely, is the explanation I would go to....they just put him at the wrong weight class.

I see you picked Altmann for the finals at 126, It will most likely be Stratford's Mason Kauffman.... in my book

True, But I see Altmann losing in the Quarterfinals... if the seeds stick. which I believe they are subject to change..... Altmann is 7-4 and wrestled 106 last year. I look at the other kids and don't see Altmann as  a true top seed.

I think the seeds may change... but I might be wrong.

I  pick Kauffman to beat Verveka besides... just who I see as a little bit better.

Mistake? Maybe???  I believe this is 2 years in a row a change in weight classes has happened once the seedlings came out. There was also a post earlier stating how stacked 160 was and has since been withdrawn.  Mistakes happen  ;)

IF you want to ask a question then go to the source. There was a mistake or should I say miscommunication with the coach and athlete. The change was asked for way before any seeds(auto seeds) came out- it was asked on Wednesday.160 is stacked and the post wasn't withdrawn on purpose-another mistake by pressing  too many buttons on a small phone. 13 Ranked kids(D3 #1&2) are at 160 but the wrestler moved to 152 where you have D1 #1 & #2 and Caelwarts who they may wrestle at State.

Just wanted to clarify the information- Mistake? Maybe???? Sure love public forum gossip.

Ha. well that's what this is, and it is what it is. You would need to ask the people in charge of the tournament, but it is what it is.. .I'm would guess he was planning to cut to 152 all along, Not just a last minute decision. But I'm just guessing since I don't really know

Williams capable of winning 160 or 152.  In fact 160 is more wide open then 152 IMO about 6 or 7 kids that could win and they are not all in the top 7 auto seeds.... If they can go there per 1/2 lb since their last match, and it does not hurt a teammate or team for scoring then who cares..

Title: Re: Bi-State predictions?
Post by: boowrestle on December 28, 2014, 09:08:19 AM
Everybody needs tto go read the seeding criteria tthat bi state uses, wrestlers are 1st ranked by catagory,i believe 1-8,this is determined by past bi state/state results.Freshman need to pay their dues their first yr at bi state.126lbs #1 seed has been brought up,the current #1 seed although a 7-4 record,he placed top 5 at state last yr which places him in catagory #3 which is higher than the other participants.Look at 113lbs top 2  seeds.8-1 over 18-0,top kid was 3rd at both bi state/state,#2 was 5th at both(difference between catagory #1 and #3).Old saying"if you want to be the best you have to beat the best."Bi state seeding does a prettty good job  of gettting the top 4-6 seeds correct and after that its preety much a crap shoot anyways.Good luck to everybody.

That kid needs someone else taking care of his paper work. Because last year if I'm not mistaken he was at 145 until seeding came out then went to 152. Wow what poor paper work skills (or bad luck)  that that same thing could happen 2 years in a row! In order to be the best you need to beat the best. And you should not post how tough the weight class is if you don't plan to have him wrestle there. Good kid and good wrestler but gets pretty tough to cheer for someone that keeps trying to take the easy path!

Easy path? What are you smoking? Schmid, Caelwarts and Ziolowski are the best! I would argue the point more but my last post was pretty clear why it happened this year. Look at the top 3 vs top 3 at 160. Not even close and Withington/Roen are good kids. Dirt maybe you should look at the kids first. The kid doesn't need fans that criticizes choices and hide behind screen names. The kid doesn't run from anyone and is wrestling with a torn shoulder.

One thing that confuses me is the fact that some top seeds have first round matches while some lower seeds have first round byes....

Not that it matters for the top seeds, but the lower seeds should be able to wrestle each other instead of giving one lower seed a bye and the other lower seed a top seed.

I guess it's just the way they make the brackets, which I  guess works itself out as the tournament goes.
Title: Re: Bi-State predictions?
Post by: ICEMAN112 on December 28, 2014, 09:06:55 PM
Dirt there must be a conspiracy going on that we knew Ziolowski was being pulled from the tournament but was listed on the auto seeds. Maybe he is running from Williams?? Just kidding- Joe is an outstanding wrestler and I hope he returns soon. Dirt look at the bracket - Caelwarts is still there along with a few others so there is more than 1 stud. I guess wrestling a State Runner up in D1 isn't considered good to Dirt. In Dirts perfect life maybe a kid should wrestle 2 brackets and nobody ever make a mistake :) not worth my time even discussing it even more. Wow and other wrestlers dropped weight classes tonight. Dirt you better start looking into their reasons or maybe just let them wrestle. Just my opinion.
Good Luck to all the wrestlers tomorrow.

Dark night I believe byes are thrown in randomly.

What happened to Caelworts in the quarter finals?
Title: Re: Bi-State predictions?
Post by: ICEMAN112 on December 29, 2014, 10:42:10 PM
The match was very intense and I had to rewatch the video several times to see exactly what happened:

Caelwerts was up 6-1 and Connor hit a standing granby putting Caelwarts on his head. After 2-3 minutes of medical injury time Caelwarts tried to continue while Connor was on top. The score was 7-4 and there was a crossface at the end of the 2nd period.  Caelwarts appeared to be really hurt and couldn't get off the mat. He eventually stood up and shook his head that he couldn't continue.

I hope Caelwarts is alright. It was a battle that everyone wanted to see happen but ended with an injury. Caelwerts was helped off the mat and while Connors hand was raised he reached over and raised Caelwerts hand.

The match was very intense and I had to rewatch the video several times to see exactly what happened:

Caelwarts was up 6-1 and Connor hit a standing granby putting Caelwarts on his head.

Caelwarts was helped off the mat and while Connors hand was raised he reached over and raised Caelwarts hand.

Uff. Hope it isn't very serious. Caelwarts has a bright future.

I'd say Williams has a bright future.  What he did was the definition of a class act. That kind of respect takes a guy places in life. It's always good to hear stories like that. ( Not on Caelwarts part, obviously) Hats off to you!

from what i understand caelwarts has a long history of concussions. i wish the best but i sure hope everyone involved takes this very seriously. concussions as we know are nothing to mess around with. especially multiple concussions.

Sounds like Williams is a class act.

Sorry to hear Caelwarts has a history. Hope this is just a bump in the road for the young man.

I'll have fun watching today.

Enjoy, gents.

What happened to Bahr?

I hope someone fills us in Bones... a potential 4-timer suffering an injury is kind of a big deal.

I believe this is Caelwarts Senior Year, great wrestler ... it will be a little sad if he cant finish his career on a positive note.

from what i understand Bahr tore acl in match against Berceau. they were scrapping hard and ended up out of bounds. now this is what i heard from a pretty good source, so not from anybody from westsalem/bangor.
