Thanks for the link imnofish.
Was working near Minneapolis in the 1970's. My friend Kevin (Vietnam Vet) and I were heading out to ski in Colorado (I'd never ski'd before, at all, so it was going to be interesting.).
I had an old VW Beetle (I'd installed a radio w/cassette tape deck). Bought used ski's etc. and a ski rack for the back.
Day before we headed out I tried skiing once at Afton Alps with no experience.
Kevin suggested I record two albums of his onto cassettes. Jesse Winchester - 'Defying Gravity' and John Prine - 'John Prine'.
Listened to those driving to and from Colorado...
Was fortunate to see John Prine sing a few times over the years. (never heard Winchester in person).
Some years ago I related a story of running into John Prine.

RIP John Prine

Cool story! Thanks for the link to it. Honestly, I've just become more aware of John Prine during the past few months, thanks to my cousin who is a big fan. Just looking at the lyrics and seeing a few clips of his performances (both old and more recent) have really piqued my interest. I'm going to have to get my hands on more of his music. The great thing about artists is that they are immortalized through the work they leave behind. Sad that I didn't discover him earlier...

Afton alps has some really nice bike path now. Might know some one that helped with those lol.
Listened to some John prince over the years. Good cruising music on a lazy day >:(
Good story tom!
John Prine was the best songwriter I've had the pleasure to hear. I've seen him several times. Just a genuine guy. I thought he was going to pull through. Lost an artist; but one who never took himself seriously.
