After looking at the brackets I think the Badgers are about in as good of position as they could have hoped for. Yes, all draws are tough (some more than others), but guys like Moran and Martin, whose results are central to the Badger team results, have it within their capabilities to make a little run on the front side of the bracket and pick up some critical points. If they drop into the consolation bracket too soon, not only do the Badgers lose some critical championship-side points but also, anything can happen on the backside of the bracket and guys might even miss NCAA invites if they screw up a match they should win. Get a couple of other guys to win a match or two that are toss ups and good things can happen. I think this is where the "rubber meets the road" for Bono's crew this year; they have had some ups and downs during the season but it is the coaching staff's responsibility to have these guys hitting on all cylinders for the Big Ten meet - no excuses - no "next week."

Sincerely hoping for a good tourney for all of the Badgers.
Merely having an opinion doesn't necessarily make it a good one

Agreed, Nat - there are so many 50/50 matches in college, or maybe 45/55, and these can dictate how a tournament goes.  Other than the true "alpha" studs (there are only a few as ALL of these guys are "normal" studs) pretty much any match can go either way and a single mistake can cost you the match.   That's why these are so fun to watch - and nerve-wracking too...   Go Badgers!!

I wonder if Moran and Sebastian will be on a pitch count and default after qualifying?

Based on these seeds:
125- Barnett's first match is super important to win, because if he loses he most likely has Cronin from Indiana who he lost to earlier. If he wins he could end up with Thomsen from Nebraska who he pinned.  If he wins that match he would qualify for NCAAs.
133-Not much to say
141- Moran being the 5 seed might actually be beneficial? He handled Red in the dual even while getting hurt. I think he also matches up great with Red because Red is a counter/scramble wrestler, but Moran is better in the scrambles. Then would have Nick Lee who he beat last year(although it seems Nick Lee has jumped levels).
149-Martin-Will end up with Brayton Lee from Minnesota who he lost to 7-4.  A winnable match, but Cole can't give up 1-2 easy takedowns in the first. If he loses to Lee he would end up with Purinton or Parriot on the backside and he has beaten them both this year. That would qualify him for NCAAs and probably a rematch with Rooks from Indiana.
157- Model- Has Thomas from Minnesota round 1. Thomas keeps every match close, but his last time out lost to Nebraska's backup Caleb Licking 6-0. If he loses to Thomas he would have a rematch with Pipher from PSU who he majored. He would get a rematch with Tucker from MSU who he lost to in a close match( DON"T GET HEAD THROWN AND WE WIN).
165-We need to get the first takedown on Marinelli! If he can beat Marinelli he could be a top 3 seed with Joseph and Griffith.
174-Krattiger-Has a tough path to stay out of the 9th place bracket as he will have to beat one of Romero OSU, Skatzka Minn, or Labriola Neb. Krattiger will be included in the 9th place bracket thanks to Indiana not having a 174 and getting a bye.
184-Sebastian-Has Webster from Minn right away who he lost to in OT. He was in on 39 shots, but couldn't finish. Finish those shots and get the W. He will have to beat Braunagel/Embree to advance into the placement rounds.
197-Watkins-Hope that Brunner isn't healed up yet after his injury or he pulls a Suriano and MF out of tourney and gets a extra spot.
285- Hillger-Hope he can get a TD on Parris and threaten him. Would be a huge bump to his seed for NCAAs to get a win like that.
