Wanted to highlight a few day one matches to watch at 125

Kaylor vs Noto
Surtin vs Poulin
Lujan vs Davis
Barnett vs Camacho

Throw out any other cant miss matchups for thursday.
Also, wondering if anyone knows whether a 33 seed has ever knocked off the one seed? Or will this be the first year it has ever happened

Don't know about the 33 vs 1 matchup specifically, but from 2011 until now I'm reasonably sure only 1 #33 seed has AA'd

During that same stretch only 1 #1 seed has NOT AA'd

What 1 vs 33 matchup are you calling out?

Here is one and not sure if it is true but didn't scot rechstiener AA from the one pig tail back in the 80's. Not sure I it was a 33 man bracket back then.

For the people that don't know scot rechstiener you might know him as Big Pappa Pump scot steiner lol. Michigan wrestler either 177 or 190 in the 80's

I assume 4ever is calling out Lujan (MSU) vs Davis (PSU)

wrestle_4ever

Correct.

I did not see it but was told that Lujan wrestled Davis very closely in the dual. Anyways, am intrigued for this to go down

Lujan is a guy that is good but just can't put it together consistently.  He has no bad loss.  Mostly decisions.  This is a very winnable match for him.  IMO Davis is probably the least deserving of #1 seeds this year.

It's only been a few years with true seeds thru all 33.

Was only seeded top 16, then the rest were drawn out of the hat.

I think we see Barnett, Hamiti, and Liegel in the quarterfinals!

It seems like Maylor's capacity to advance is capped, but Zargo could make a run as well.

I like the way you are thinking! Tomorrow is 1 of my favorite days of the year!

I would LOVE to see this optimism come true!!

Maylor could be set up as well depending on when he hits the backside.

littleguy301

Badgers get 2 AA if lucky. U want them all but lers be honest. Badgers may only get 2. Being honest.

He may not hit the backside!

Everyone is 0-0 starting right now. Let's ride, Badgers!

I expect Hamiti to be an AA fairly easily if is healthy and hope he gets high on podium.

My whole tournament is based around hope for Barnett.  Just really want him to end his fabulous career with being an AA
Of Course, this is only my opinion and no one elses!
