Quote from: WrestlerSB80 on Today at 11:02:02 AMBen Askren, Nick Becker and get Trevor Brandvold. Ben head coach and Nick, Trevor assistant.

Didn't Ben say he wanted Trevor at head coach.

Right now I doubt Trevor would ever move from Minnesota to be an assistant. Trevor is a way proven college coach and maybe one of the best heavy guy coach in the nation, PERIOD.

Sorry to all the Ben lovers but Trevor is a way better college coach at this point of their very respected and storied careers!

Whitnall/Greendale is hosting a tri or quad on Wed 12/4/24 and looking for 1 or 2 more teams. So far Westosha Central is also attending. We will have JV and Girls matches with 3 mats.  Please contact Tom Maloney at tmaloney@whitnall.com if interested.

Alex would be a great pick up.  If I recall Eric was a finance major or something in that area, so I would imagine he's going to be making a few more that an Asst.  I could also see Eric helping out one of the clubs in that area, if not creating his own.  I think Trent's ship has sailed and he'll be in Minny for a while.

I'd like to see some new blood honestly in that position.

One coach that I didn't see there was Bono. Becker was there.

Quote from: Scramble_king on May 10, 2024, 07:00:44 PMI wonder what % of athletes to win and place from each club would be.

Agreed. Askren is doing an incredible job but they do have a lot more kids by volume. Additionally a lot of kids may not have made it to Madison for the tournament.

In any event I think most if not all on this forum would agree that doing FS/Greco and club work year round are going to produce better wrestlers!

Wisconsin Wrestling Fan - I'd be all for Eric Barnett if they went that route.  Very humble and talented guy!

Quote from: wrestle03 on Yesterday at 10:22:01 AMI wouldnt say Barnett.  He's moved back to the Fox Cities and is with his fiance I believe, he also stated on a recent podcast he was starting a new job in the insurance industry.

As for Max Askren - no way in heck Bono would do this.

Eric could still do his clinics and make a larger salary (at least initially) as an Assistant Coach than an insurance job. Would be a tough decision for him though. It sounded like he wanted flexibility in his career.
