I understand it's hard. I just have seen what these young men have done and feel strongly more than 3-4 will all American or be blood round material.

looks to be a very good score for the Badgers and the class is very solid! Good job Barry, Trevor and Mitch

Are you cutting Kyle out of the credit?!

Sorry and Kyle and anyone else involved in the recruiting process.

I like your optimism, but I think you are underestimating how hard it is to AA.

Case in point:
two -first place
two second place

That's 1 weight class. What about 141 this year? Not saying all 10 are all americans but like our upside.

#21
I just saw this in a thread about PSU getting 2 more top 10 ranked recruits recently. This is a list of where their recruits were nationally ranked when in high school (not at their weight, but overall ranking).

PSU: #1,3,3,3,4,5,5,7,10,12 on the roster with 4,5,8,10 recruited. top ten mean avg is 5.3
Iowa: #2,8,14,16,19,20,23,25,27 rostered with 1 and 2 in the pipeline. top nine mean ave is 17.1

Basically, PSUs entire lineup is filled with top 10 recruits and Iowas is filled with top 20 recruits.  I think Hillger is our only recruit that falls into the category of their standard recruit. Our top 50 recruits were otherwise in the 30-50 range.  I think if you looked at Ohio States recruits, it would probably look close to Iowas as well.  As I expected, to get to their level, we need to get more high level talent. I don't think they are developing better, they are just starting with the guys that are winning national freestyle tournaments in high school. We need to be getting 2 top 50 recruits each class to just come close to the top big 10 teams.

The last 2 recruiting classes (Wicks) and Hillger, Konrath and Bahr bring us close to that level....although one of Konath/Bahr needs to improve to get to the top 50 level.

Konrath won some national titles last year and was in the finals at Fargo in freestyle.
As long as we are keeping score, I've got something to prove

I know, but at this point he is still not ranked in the top 50 nationally.  I agree he has the potential to be a good college wrestler.

When he is a RS freshman we could have:

125: Jimenez -SR (top 100 recruit)
133: konrath- RSFR (top 100 recruit)
141: Stickley-Jr  (top 100 recruit), Martin- JR
149: Bahr-RSFR (top 100 recruit)
157: Wick-SO (top 50 recruit)
165: Wick-SO (top 50 recruit)
174: Christensen-Sr  (top 50 recruit)
184: Ritter-Jr  (top 50 recruit)
197: Reinhardt - Jr (top 100 recruit)
285: Hillger - RSFR (top 50 recruit)

A lot can happen between now and then, but it appears we will have some talent at each weight and no glaring holes.  The other key will be for 3 or 4 of them to develop into all American type wrestlers.

I like the direction the program seems to be headed in. Now we hope for some good production.
