Six Badgers ranked individually in the top 20

MADISON, Wis. - InterMat Wrestling announced its NCAA Division I preseason team and individual rankings on Tuesday. The Badgers check in at No. 15 in the team rankings with 41 points.

Nine of the top 15 teams hail from the Big Ten, with Minnesota, Ohio State and Iowa leading the list as the top three.

The Wisconsin wrestling program has six wrestlers ranked in the top 20 in their respective weight classes.

Isaac Jordan, a 2014 All-American, comes into the 2014-15 season ranked No. 4 at 165 lbs. The redshirt sophomore concluded his outstanding All-American season with a 31-7 overall record and finished third at the 2014 Big Ten Championships. Jordan earned his first All-America honors after finishing seventh at the 2014 NCAA Championships with a 4-2 record. He clinched two major wins over the top-two ranked opponents at 157 lbs., which earned him Big Ten Wrestler of the Week accolades.

Connor Medbery, an NCAA qualifier, earned a No. 6 ranking at 285 lbs. Medbery, a redshirt junior, finished the season with a 26-9 record and was ranked in the top 10 the entire regular season.

Redshirt sophomore Ryan Taylor earned a No. 7 ranking at 125 lbs. The Fayette County, Ohio, native logged a 2-2 record at last year's NCAA championships and placed third at the Big Ten championships with a 3-1 record.

Redshirt senior Timmy McCall slides into No. 13 at 197 lbs. Wisconsin's starter at 197 lbs. finished last season with a 17-16 overall record and placed seventh at the Big Ten championships with a 3-2 record.

Jesse Thielke, a redshirt sophomore, starts the season with a No. 15 ranking in the 133 lbs. category. Thielke concluded the 2013-14 season with an overall mark of 20-13 and finished seventh at the Big Ten championships.

Rylan Lubeck, Wisconsin's five-time starter at 149 lbs., rounds out the rankings for Wisconsin by earning a No. 19 ranking at 141 lbs. The redshirt sophomore tallied a 2-2 record at the NCAA championships and placed sixth at the Big Ten championships after finishing with a 2-3 record.

Updated rankings are released every Tuesday during the NCAA wrestling season. The next rankings update will be revealed on Nov. 4.
