Haha! I'm working at the jail tonight and brought a nice Tuna samich. Chunk tuna, olive oil, splash of cider vinegar, bit of mustard (no baby crap mustard!) finely chopped red bell pepper, chopped cilantro, topped with spinach and tomato on a toasted bolillo bun. Love tuna!!!

Reminds of a trip I took to Mexico with a group of HS kids. The food at most places we ate was amazing; but a lot of things my kids weren't used to. Pasta Bolognese, chilaquiles, brazo de reina, and all was a shock to their systems. So, we get to my favorite seafood place and they had mayo based tuna salad with saltines. The kids just tore it up right now.

We were actually in the process of clearing our wooded lot, in preparation for construction of our home.  Burning some brush in a pit and suddenly the wind gusted...
As the firemen quickly stopped the fire from spreading throughout our wooded subdivision, our neighbor walked over, shook my hand, and said, "Welcome to the neighborhood."  Funny guy...

Well I think we established some of you should not be trusted with matches !!!!!

Matches?  I prefer flame throwers.   ;)

Not the matches so much as the gasoline that's a bit dangerous around the Mrs. Live (thankfully) and learn. JK, she never learns. Keeps thing interesting. Gives our neighbors something to chuckle about. We're kind of the pyros of the neighborhood.

Actually, I only use dry twigs, leaves, pine needles, and pine cones.  No gasoline.  My idea of a flame thrower is actually a grill lighter, or some charcoals started in a "chimney-style" lighter.

Going back to the recipe featured in this discussion, have any of you tried it with canned chicken, instead of tuna?  I'm thinking that might be tasty...

Chicken salad is great

Smoked chicken off of the Big Green Egg or other grilling device. Cut into 3/4" chunks.
Dice onion, celery and add pineapple and of course mayonnaise mix together add some walnuts and grapes cut in half and you can get all the elements for fantastic sandwich. or on a cracker. I prefer fresh pineapple.

Hmm. Never tried pineapple in there. I love pineapple. Grapes and walnuts are a strange combo that work together so nicely.

Eh, next time you make egg salad, throw some Italian red pepper flakes in your spice grinder and sprinkle that powder on top. Just the right snap to it.

I've never used canned chicken. It's so cheap to buy the thighs or breast or just make the leg quarters (You can find them for 70 cents a pound.)

Either way, must be like tuna in a can, only more clucky.

It's actually good in a can and is very affordable at Aldi.  For senior citizens, without an army to feed, it's a great option.

Even though it's only my son at home; he eats like an army.

I shop at Aldi's all the time, then hit Woody's for whatever else I need. I'll have to try some canned chicken. If I hide it behind the canned spinach, I might just get some.

Dang!

I am a terrible cook but i am one of the best sandwhich makers and some really goodnideas for up coming work season.

My son is a pretty good cook, though. Happy he has taken interest in cooking plus just like bigg says, he may eat me out of house and home! Man those teenagers can put away some food!

My last teenager just turned 40, but we get to feed his 12 year old fairly often.  That girl could wolf down more cheeseburgers than Wimpy, without breakin' a sweat.  Good thing she's extremely active and growing like a weed!

Does she ever pay up on Tuesday?

Hey, LG, you got one of those hot dog rollers, right. I don't know if I ever asked you, but can you make natural casing dogs on there? You know, the kind that aren't round so much as crescent shaped?

A teenageer has an empty leg they just keep filling over and over.

Turkey Breast slow roasted on the grill or smoker is a fantastic sandwich meat and lean meat. I like it with a whole wheat bread pepper jack cheese and mayo with some Slap Ya Mama spice which is a Cajun spice.
