Kleinhans was a three time Big Ten placer, at 177, didn't cut a pound. He actually quit after his freshman year for a year, thought about it, and came back with attitude. He gave Ed Banach an 11-9 match in the dual his senior year....Eddie too big though.

Mike Terry AA'd at 150 and 158- though still a 150 lber.

Grant Smith was a two time Iowa City (equivalent of Fargo) freestyle national champ, from DeForest, as well as a two time WIAA state champ- remember it was all one class at the time. Finishing a leg takedown on Grant was next to impossible. He qualified for NCAAs one year, and owned a dual meet win over Nate Carr ( 3X NCAA champ).

Neal Neyer from Cincinnati, Ohio LaSalle High School...heavily recruited by Kleven- owned a high school win over three time NCAA runnerup Mike DeAnna. Neal started for one year, then married his sweet lady Jane.

Ron Jeidy, Fennimore WI,,,NCAA champ at 190 defeating defending champ Frank Santana of Iowa State in the finals. Great foot sweep.
