Every four years in winter, big business, broadcasters and advertisers want me to get overtly passionate about sports I've never heard of.

I believe their goal is to make people emotional and then toss products in front of them, while they are teary eyed, to form some bond you won't be able to resist acting on when you go to the store or browse the internet.  Cha Ching $$$!!!  I don't need to be tricked into spending another single dollar.

I can watch downhill for a bit and maybe some of that racing in a circle... (change channels during the 'get to know the competitor' schlock)  but mainly sports with 'no defense' are like going for a hike and someone gives you a score for how well you did it.

ok, I am just too crotchety to really get into it.

Is really too much for the snowboarders to wear red, white, and blue? You're representing the USA for crying out loud.
