What do we think about the remainder of the Badger Schedule

Nov 1 vs. Ohio
Nov. 9th @ Michigan State Open
Nov. 24th vs. Rider
Dec. 7th vs. Bucknell
Dec. 8th @ Bloomsburg
Dec. 8th @ Lockhaven
Dec. 21st @ Orlando Fl. West Virginia, NDSU and Campbell
Dec. 29 & 30th Midlands
Feb 21-23 vs. UNI

Very interesting schedule.  Not the toughest schedule in Wisconsin history that's for sure.

With the departure of Endene I ran a wrestlestat simulation of the schedule.
I put in a couple of changes to the lineup.
Projected to be a 1-15 campaign, beating Bloomsburg and getting shut out 5 times.
We are a young team and Wrestlestat does not account for the development of young wrestlers.
Some of the scores may not be so lopsided during the Big Ten portion of the schedule if teams give some starters the night off.

12-27 Ohio University
12-26 Rider
11-26 Bucknell
30-10 Bloomsburg
8-28 Lockhaven
4-34 WVU
15-19 NDSU
3-34 Campbell
0-35 Northern Iowa
0-42 Iowa
0-38 Minn
3-31 Purdue
16-19 Mich St
0-40 Nebraska
13-25 Maryland
0-38 Rutgers

We can pull some upsets and beat Mich State, NDSU, and maybe Maryland.
We need to avoid injuries, especially at 141, 184, 197 where we either don't have a backup (197) or we would have to burn a redshirt (184 and 141).

Maryland is a decent team and unless they sit or have injuries to their top wrestlers, Bucky has very little chance.  On the other hand NDSU had a coaching change recently in which all the top wrestlers transferred away and they are very young, so NDSU is quite beatable.  Michigan State is also quite beatable having had their top wrestlers transfer away.

Usually with us being a few days before opening practice there is a buzz going wound. Instead, DEAD AIR. Kind of tells us where the program is and where it is headed.

Do you ever have anything positive to say?

Hallelujah!! You need to hide your cheerios better so whoever pisses in them each morning can't find them. Being a complete downer on here isn't going to change anyones mind on anything except for whether or not they want to sit with you or talk with you. Wow. Find some joy man.

Does anyone know when the full schedule is coming out, or if it has already?  I may have missed it, but it seems odd that I get an email titled "Last Chance to purchase season tickets" before the schedule is even posted.  Also, the link to purchase doesn't even work on my computer.  It's a few years old so it's probably that, but I can't help thinking that it could be a signal for how this season is going to go....

Was there anything not true about this?
If you look back many years there would be excitement and "I can't wait to see so and so". Not seeing that this year. There was a time that if there was a hint that someone was going to be at the top of the Big Ten and NCAA but you guys seem good with a bottom finish and poor NCAA. I want to see a lot more then that. If you think I am being a downer I guy your standards are not close to mine. That is cool and I am sure it works for you but I was taught from a very young age to push and push pass challenges and continue grow and improve not step back and step down.
Sorry I mess up your day but truth and reality can be a real challenge for many.

dad 2 5, I would believe that most on here are not happy with the current results from the wrestling program. To criticize, or be critical, without offering any solutions is unproductive. It is a classic response by a malcontent or juvenile delinquent. A more constructive criticism would be for you to approach your concerns to AD McIntosh and get his vision of the program and what he believes UW needs to do to be more productive on the mat. Do we know that he has not reached out to potential coaching candidates and found the cupboard to be bare? Then reply back with your findings to all of us on the forum so that we are all on the same page on the direction of the program.

Why is anyone's responsibility to "fix" the program beyond the program/school itself?  If I am displeased with the Packers, am I obliged to contact Brian Gutekuntz before I can voice displeasure with a result?  Does anyone imagine that an AD from a Big Ten school will be fielding calls from random people and making leadership decisions based on those interactions?  It's really bizarre to me that people on a forum are somehow responsible for fixing a program they are otherwise disconnected from.  If an individual feels compelled to "do something to help", then great, do so.  But I don't think the rest of the forum should be told to provide an account of what they did "to help".
