People keep telling me Matty Bianchi was penalized for doing a backflip. There's no such penalty on track. I've got my eye out for "more official" final scores than trackwrestling's scores because if track is official, he simply wasn't penalized.

Luke, after the backflip the ref did signal the penalty, but I am with you, I do not know why it is not showing up on track. The score table literally must have forgot. I am not sure, either way I think you will agree with me, just another inconsistency in the refs to follow through on calls. But then again, who cares right?   not like it's "affecting" anyone with the last match of the year  

It's simple.  There is no official team score kept at Individual State.  If a wrestler was penalized, there is no need for a team point deduction to be kept since there is no official team score.  No one recognized Stoughton, L-C or Stratford as team state champions from last weekend.  That is earned this weekend.

D3 Bonduel sectional, 3 of the top 4 teams. Stratford,  Coleman, and Weyauwega-Fremont.

All this says is that some teams good kids are better than other teams good kids. At the same time, it says that some teams mediocre kids are better than other teams mediocre kids. There's teams that placed higher than any other team in their sectional, but didn't make it out of regionals. Ponder that.

Let's just be happy that we no longer issue our team state champion with this format.  That was a huge positive change even though it still needs more change with format.

Why we haven't figured out a way to not use regional scores is beyond me?  Wish they would just seed everyone with a conference record above .500 into a dual format tournament.
