When more guys are choosing to go to South Dakota State than the hometown program you know you have a big problem.  This is beyond embarrassing - the mess that Bono has created here wont be going away anytime soon.

The Badgers are a very young team which can also cause some guys that maybe wouldn't make the lineup for 2/3 year make them decide to go somewhere else.  Not sure how many scholarships are available for the Badger with the young team.

My crystal ball says Mac is just sitting on his hands until this debacle with the NCAA and the unionization of Dartmouth has some direction.  If it goes south my feeling is the program is dropped and replaced with a men's Lacrosse team.  Why else would Mac be hanging with a program destined to finish in the very bottom of the Big.

Maybe it is time for a new Division 1 program in the state.  Lets face it, Madison has never shown much support for wrestling.  Andy Rein was let go because he did the same thing that Hellickson did.  Many do not realize the greatness that wrestled for, trained with or coached at Wisconsin.  I would argue that the Badger Room of the late 70's and early 80's resembled that of NLWC today.

Barry A. tried to make a big splash, but so far it has not panned out.  I think Marquette would be a nice fresh start.  Lot's of potential sponsers within the greater Milwaukee area.  You never know  :o

I would like to see UWGB start a D1 program. Wrestling rich area that would definitely show up at duals and support the team. Maybe they could hire one of the Askrens.  But... unfortunately I don't think the school is doing well financially so this is probably just a pipe dream.
