Welcome Newly appointed Badger RTC Executive Director Sean Smalley

Hello!

The Badger Regional Training Center is excited to announce the addition of Sean Smalley to the staff as Executive Director.  Sean joins us from South Dakota State University where he worked with Coach Chris Bono to deliver top 10 attendance performances for the past two wrestling seasons.  He has previously worked for USA Wrestling.  He will be spearheading the BRTC fundraising efforts as well as taking over day to day operations in his new role.  We want to thank Tyler Turner for his commitment and devotion the Badger RTC and Wisconsin Wrestling.  He will be missed and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

We recently sent several of our BRTC athletes to The UWW Junior and Senior World Team Trials in Rochester, MN.  Jacob Covaciu (79kg) and Trent Hillger (125kg) both competed in the UWW Junior division with Hillger earning 2 technical falls and one pin on his way to a 3rd Place finish in the mini tournament.  In the Senior Division Nazar Kulchytskyy and Evan Wick both competed in the 74kg mini tournament.  Evan Wick earned a 3rd Place finish in the mini tournament going 3-1 on the day.  Nazar garnered a first place finish in the mini tournament earning him a spot on the US National Team!!!

With the U23 national tournament on the horizon this weekend (June 2-3) we will have 11 Wisconsin Wrestling athletes competing for a birth onto the U23 world team this fall.  Follow along online at arena.flowrestling.org !!!

Indeed - sorry to see him leave, but when the house gets cleaned, few are the old dogs that are spared.

Hopefully Bono and Company do what so many expect of them to justify the cost of sweeping the place "clean."
