I have heard through the grapevine that Darin Anderson and Pete Paulson from Clear Lake has stepped down from Coaching. Is this true?
I guess they hired the big house for 2.7 million...

curds!!!!!!!!!!
Don't call it a comeback ... I've been here for years!
Rockin my peers and puttin suckas in fear
Those are some big cowboy boots to fill ....
Maybe they will find someone with tennis shoes ;)
Blasphemy!
The two awesome coaches and gone ... Clear Lake ends it's dominance ... no one talks about the Lakeland ...
I think we have to bring those guys back! This sucks.
CL still has the most overall talent but will it get wasted?
SCF and Cameron fight it out for the tournament championship.
Gerber and Clark clearly the cream of the coaching crop in the Lakeland now. Each have a front runner for state champ.
New coachs in Flambeau and Bruce?
This may be the worst year in many many years for overall talent in the Lakeland.
Maybe that will get things started.

MR. ferguson we need a Fester type character for this conference to get more input.
Is Cameron in the St Croix Falls tournament this year? Looks to be more competition with Hudson, Rapids, and I think River Falls in it this year.

Plus C/PF and Boyceville. Some weights will be loaded. 152 has C/PF, RF, and WR. Yikes! 103 could see Boy, Smith Am, WR.
It's good to see this tournament strengthening. Looks as if many weights will be deep. MR Clark has did a nice job. Looking forward to this tournament.

got to give credit to St Croix Falls on putting this together! I am sure Mr Clark did have some input ;)
I have a feeling there will be a lot of competition in the 113,120,126 weights. Some surprises may be in store.
From what I have heard, there are going to be 16 teams.
Amery,Boyceville,SCF,Cameron,L-F-G,WR,River Falls,Hudson,C/PF,Spencer,Northwestern,Ogilvie MN, Lakeland and Cornell, Don't know the other two. Maybe Princeton Mn and another Mn school.

Did Marko wrestle 126 at Burnsville last weekend?
He wrestled 126 at Burnsville and came in 2nd. Word is he cashed in all his Chipotle gift cards from Christmas in one day and has a little weight to cut now ;D. It was a small tournament so I'm guessing he went up a couple of weights looking for a challenge.
Quote from: TopRowFan on January 07, 2014, 06:33:49 AM
I am looking forward to that tournament!!
The question is, will Wheeler and Gerber end up at the same weight for that tournament?? who wins between them?
Two excellent wrestlers, but my money's on Gerber. (figuratively speaking, of course) ;)
With this cold weather, I have time to look things up. Also in the tournament, Flambeau, Pine City MN. I don't know about the Minnesota rankings.

From what you heard, I would have thought your finger is on the pulse.
SCF dominates CL 60-15.
CL looks lost, they still have lots of talent but didn't look like they was much interest in wrestling.
SCF looked hungry and their whole team was into the match.
No doubt in my mind, SCF walks thru the Lakeland this year.
Is SCF tournament going to be on Trackwrestling? What time does wrestling start?
Another note, regarding Gerber: His father/coach has stated to the local media that he will eventually be competing at 120, but has been wrestling up in order to get tougher competition. Not sure how soon he will make the move, though...
If I remember right we had this same discussion last year and none of the upper echelon wrestlers that have been mentioned ended up in the same bracket at SCF.
I would bet the same thing happens this year.
My guess is that if Marko is at 120 that Wheeler will stay at 126 and Gerber will go 132. Since Wheeler and Gerber practice together quite often I doubt they will want to face off in the tourney.

Why would that matter?
I think these guys will go where they feel they will get the best competition. Guys at their level thrive on the challenge and know its value in helping them improve.

I would guess Wheeler and Gerber will be in the same bracket and Marko will be in another. I think 120 for Wheeler and Gerber and 26 for Marko.
But then again, when is the SCF tourny?
The tournament is the 25th. My guess most kids will start moving down towards regional weights. I would guess a Wheeler/Gerber match up more likely. Yes some kids do thrive on the challenge of better competition, we will see.

Arnold has nothing on me.
Kal weighed too much today to cut to 120 for next Saturday. maybe the question should be if he is really going to 120 at all.... ??? So at St. Croix Falls next Saturday we will have Marko at 113, Wheeler at 120, and Gerber at 126. ???

I dont think you will see that, sorry but I dont believe you will.
Does anyone have the list of teams and how many teams are coming to the St. Croix Falls tournament next weekend? I'm glad Hudson got into this tournament. It would be nice to know how many ranked kids may be there.
Found it on Trackwrestling. Should be a good tournament.

This is more like it. Not sure which but maybe Wheeler and Gerber will battle it out at 32. Just a thought and in no way I know anything about what is going on. Just looking at past results and where they have been wrestling.
Just curious why you would think either Gerber or wheeler, much less both of them would go up to 132?
Gerber has been wrestling 126 all year so no reason he should go up unless to avoid someone IMO.
Wheeler has wrestled 120-126 all year other than going up a weight class to find a better match.
Marko is the Wild card that has wrestled anywhere from 113 to 126 to find the better competition and could weigh in anywhere.
My is that we won't see any of these matchups. Wheeler and Gerber know where each is going to weigh in and Amery and SCF have a history and will know where everybody will be at.
Regardless of not seeing those particular matchups there should be plenty of other good ones.
I agree a lot with what Guillotine says. I get a feeling he's a SCF insider. Will any of these three match up next week. One of them would have to go 132 for this not to happen. My uneducated guess Wheeler and Gerber at 126. Mainly though in agreement with Guillotine, there are going to be many other great matches. Bringing in Hudson, Rapids, and River Falls is a huge boost in the arm for this tournament. Haven't got to see Boyceville this year, they and their fans always bring a lot of excitement. The rejuvenated RF team will be fun. We all know Rapids is always competitive. Will be a fun day all around.
No inside info here, I just think with Marko and Clark being ex teamates and Gerber and Wheeler being workout partners if any one of them wanted to matchup with anyone else they would make it happen.
They had the same opportunity last year and IMO it didn't happen on purpose.
Still say one of the three would have to go 132 for there not to be a match up, don't really see that happening.
yes, I agree 100%. What I was trying to say before was if one of them go all the way up to 132, no matter which one it is, it screams "dodging".
I'm sure it isn't in any of there "weight loss schedules" to jump a weight class up a couple weeks before tournaments.
Well anyway, I think we have beat this horse enough.
What other key matchups should we be looking for?
I saw on track that Palmer from Boyc was pinned by Fanning from Hudson. Is that Palmers only loss?
152 looks to be exciting. Could have a Darius Wright and Chamberlain rematch, but also Benetz WR rapids is in the middle of that now too. Looks as if most weights have some depth to them.
In some ways with the addition of 3 D1 schools, some of these semi and finals will be as good if not better than earlier tournaments this year.
I thought I saw both Wheeler and Gerber at 32 at some point in the season. I also could be wrong, so many wrestlers and so many matches I do lose some train of thought ;D
I could also see both of those 2 at 20 and Marko at 26. Just a thought.
All 3 could end up in the same bracket also with the tournment seris just around the corner ;D That would be great.
Yes your right Glide, there looks to be some very tough brackets and is there a school from MN that is bringing some horses to put in the mix?
This looks like a nice tournament.
