Very curious how many Wisconsin wrestlers have ever won a junior freestyle title in Fargo?? If one person won more then one how many did they win?
And did we ever have two junior freestyle champs in same year???
Alex Dieringer and Devin Peterson both won in 2011, and not only did they win Free but also doubled up in Greco.
Dieringer also won in 2010 and added a cadet title in 2009.
Peterson won 2 Jr titles in Greco.
Dieringer, Peterson and Breske each had 5 championships in cadet/JR freestyle and Greco combined.

Now, how many of those 32 became at least an All American in college?
I think just Deringer from that list, correct?

Wisconsin has 68 Cadet/Junior Titles in both styles as of 2013. 32 in the JR Freestyle seems a bit high based on this data and knowing our success in Greco.
The Junior Nationals started in 1971, while the Cadets entered the fray in 1986. Here's some numbers from each state association and how they relate to the Cadet & Junior Nationals.
Wisconsin
When looking at the statistics from the six tournaments, it's partially surprising to see Wisconsin has more Greco-Roman champions than it does freestyle. With 68 champions in all, Wisconsin is one of the most organized and efficient state associations and always brings big numbers to Fargo. Garrett Lowney, a 2000 Olympic bronze medalist, won seven titles, while current Oklahoma State Cowboy Alex Dieringer won five, as did Devin Peterson. Dieringer placed eight times. World champion Dennis Hall won three Junior Greco-Roman titles and four-time Junior World Team member and 2012 Junior World bronze medalist Jesse Thielke won twice. Thielke is the U.S. representative at 60kg in Greco-Roman for the 2013 World Championships.
WI has as of 7/12/2018, obviously some competitions were after that for Fargo.

That young man may have been the best physical specimen our high schools ever produced in WI. Not to take away from his technique or anything; but he was a beast.
I just bought the Fargo facts and figures this afternoon that date back to the beginning of natl championship.
