I would prefer the question to be the next Badger head coach and let Brandvold be an option. Like anyone else is an option if Davis is still the coach

I think Kyle Ruschell should be a long term option as well. Similar resume as Trevor and has coached for the Badgers one year longer...

If something happened to Barry Davis... Ben Askren without a doubt. He has won over the state and entire country. The man is connected and a flat out winner. What high school kid wouldn't want to come here? Interest in UW wrestling would sky rocket too. Attendance at home meets would at least quadruple. Doesn't seem like a Barry Alvarez kind of hire but he'd be a perfect fit.

Not sure if Askren would be successful coaching at the college level. However, they would be one of the best marketed teams and would always have a buzz if he were the coach.

In addition to his excellent technical skills, outgoing attitude, connections to other elite athletes - assistant coaches; the best marketed team is what would make him a great coach.

It is all a good wish list, but reality is BD is not anywhere until he decides he is done coaching.

Would Koll leave Cornell for UW? He would be a good fit. He has been successful at Cornell with tough academic standards. I know Cornell over the last few years has been a better program, but it would be a chance to get into B10 and have more funding. He was rumored for the PSU job before Cael inquired about the job.
