Hey guys less than 2 months from Preseason State. I don't know that everyone is going to show up, but who does everyone have for best HS wrestler in the state at all weight classes???  I would make predictions but they will be very heavily biased towards AWA wrestlers and make everyone else mad :)

Lets hear who you guys have?

Other than maybe Breske, Marko, Bianchi, Stooke  - probably no clear cut "best" at their weight

I took a run at each division and made some assumptions on weight,  but this is a starting point.  I apologize, don't follow D2 / D3 as close, I'm sure I missed plenty.

D1
106   Szohr / Koontz
113   Klien / Koontz / Schullist
120/126   T White / Spray / Lee
126/132   N Smith / Van Maanen / Leon
132/138   Folley / Yde / Accosta / Fsjorer / Winchel / Model
138/145   Bird / Kraus / J Morgan
145 /152   Dow / E Smith / Garcia
152 / 160   Benitz / Hemauer / Krien
160/170   Massie / Powell / Krattiger
170 /182   Breske  - which ever weight he goes
182 / 195   Ramos / Anderson / Rashka / Statz / Hahn
195 / 220   Stooke - which ever weight he goes
220   Blaize (great name) / Samson
HWT   Toppel (pick to win it) / Mikrut / Heidemann (fun kid to watch)
HWT - FYI -  last year Toppel has beat both,  Mikrut has beat Heidemann, Heideman beat both --  Now this year they are all in same sectionals

D2
106   Berglin
113   Hatfield
120/126   Bianchi

138/145   Bahr
145 /152   Alt ??

170 /182   ??
182 / 195   Blome / Paulson
195 / 220   Rinehart

Hand Control

I normally am a big fan of the posts that coach Askren puts on the forum, but I just think that this subject is about two or three months early. I would be shocked if electricguy was correct on the weights of more than twenty-five percent of the kids. And I am not being judgemental ,I just think that the weights of most of the kids will be higher than what is stated. I won't mention any of the individuals ,but I know my own son has put on a lot more pounds than where he was last year(growing I guess, lol). And then you can't make any reasonable guesses on the body weight % that still needs to happen. And then factor in the kids who will run and the athletes who will choose to challenge themselves by wrestling the weight they are comfortable at and wrestling whoever's at that weight.

FinalWord

I think eguy hit it right on the head. I might have included Mica Johnson somewhere in the uppers in d3....

Pretty sure Rinehart signed with the Badgers but if he was back and wrestling DII I would put him in that spot as well. Personally I would insert another Lincoln County wrestler in that spot. Returning DII State Champ at 220 Dane Borchardt

Ivan Stankowski...............
Good catch on Dane Borchardt - missed him
* I wasn't talking about Mason Reinhardt (note the spelling is different then what I posted) - I was talking about Lucius Rinehart (Evansville/Albany) who had a very nice year last year and a pretty darn good spring in FS / GR.
* Mason Reinhardt (now with Badgers) was D1 last year  -  This was the D2 section. I know it's confusing all that D1 vs D2 stuff and Rienhart vs Rienhardt    ;)

Handcontrol -  Yep I think I stated "made some assumptions on weigh" from limited info - some was a gut feel based off FS / GR, most all the boys I have up 1-2 weight classes -  I see Tanner jumped up 3 classes into the mid 120's

Only 25% weights correct? I would admit I could have up to 25% wrong, but 75% wrong, I'll take that bet. Warning - You have to go through and do all the math though.

Like I said just a starting point - I probably busted on many weights and predictions, but it starts the conversation and yes a little early.  :)

Can't forget Peplinski and Wetter if you are going to mention Rinehart.  I believe they were a step or two ahead of Rinehart last year, and I personally know that August has been training pretty hard.

Hand Control

Electric guy ,again I will repeat myself and say I meant no ill will towards any of the posts ,I just truly believe it is way too early and way too many contributing factors. But it is still interesting to hear the thoughts. As far as the bet I can't take it ,I only know your screen name.

Time to put hand control and Ben in the cage and settle this

DarkKnight

I don't think Bergelin will make 106 this year. I'm not sure on Szohr, you think he will??? i guess he could. Klien wont be 113 I don't think either. i don't think you can know how kids have grown....

But, nothing wrong with guessing!

benaskren

Hey I meant to bring it up bc we are 7 weeks out from Preseason State.  And lets be honest everyone on this forum is dying to talk about wrestling bc we are in the void right now.  Sorry about being took pumped about about wrestling Hand Control :)
