Did I miss the post with the Badgers 2014-15 wrestling schedule ?  I heard that they don't wrestle the likes of Penn St, Minnesota, Iowa, and Ohio St in duals this season.  Is that true ?  If so, the Badgers will bring some high percentage records into the Big10 tournament.

MADISON, Wis. - Coming off of a successful season last year, Coach Barry Davis and the Wisconsin wrestling squad are primed for a bigger run with Monday's release of the 2014-15 schedule.

The Badgers, who finished with a 12-6 overall record and a 16th-place finish at NCAAs last year, will open the season at the Loras Open in Dubuque, Iowa on Nov. 1 before competing at the University of Wyoming Open on Nov.8.

The Badgers then make their dual season debut at the UW Field House and open Big Ten Conference competition on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. against Maryland. This will mark the third time Wisconsin will face its new Big Ten opponent. The most recent matchup was in 2010 at the NWCA National Duals.

Following the first of four home duals, the Badgers will stay in the state of Wisconsin as they head to the Stevens Point Open in Stevens Point on Nov. 15. Less than a week later, UW will head to Lawrence Township, New Jersey to take on Ryder University on Nov. 20.

The team returns to Annapolis, Maryland on Nov. 22 to defend their title at the Navy Classic. Powered by three first-place finishes, two second-place finishes and two third-place finishes, the Badgers scored 164 team points in the 13-team field to finish first significantly ahead of second-place Navy's 106.5 points.

The next week the Badgers take on South Dakota State on Nov. 30 and will head to face North Dakota State the following day. On Dec. 6, UW will participate in the UNI Open in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Wisconsin heads back home on Dec.11 to undertake Indiana before heading to face-off with Nebraska on Dec.13. Two weeks later, the Badgers will close out the first half of the season at the Midlands Championships in Evanston, Illinois, Dec. 28-29.

Following a break, UW is scheduled to return to Evanston, Illinois on Jan. 9 to start the 2015 half of the season against Northwestern before competing in the Pat Flash Flanagan Open in Dubuque, Iowa on Jan. 10.

The Badgers return home on Jan.11 to battle Purdue at 1 p.m. The match will be the Boilermakers' first trip to the UW Field House since the 2011-12 season.

Wisconsin will be on the road Jan.23-25 to face Big Ten opponents Michigan and Michigan State, respectively

UW hosts the new Big Ten addition Rutgers for its last home dual of the season on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. The next day the Badgers will venture to Eau Claire to contest in the Blugold Open on Feb. 7 before challenging Illinois on Feb.8 at Huff Hall in Champaign, Illinois. UW last saw the Fighting Illini at home where the Badgers pulled out an exciting 19-18 victory.

After a week off, the Badgers will head to Iowa State to finish the dual season on Feb. 22 in Ames, Iowa.

The Big Ten Championship will be held in Columbus, Ohio from March 7-8, while the 2015 NCAA Championships will take place in St. Louis, Missouri, Mar. 19-21.

I was correct....  The Badgers will miss out on Big10 duals with I'm guessing the top 4 Big10 programs in 2014-15. Is that a good thing? Bummer the Badgers won't host any of those teams to bring in huge attendance.  I was at the Penn State vs Minnesota dual at season. Packed house, standing room only at Minnesota. It was electric. I hope the Badgers can generate a huge fan base this season at all home duals.

Even though the Badgers avoid the tough competition this year, an undefeated dual meet season would be a great accomplishment.

I don't see them going undefeated but I think they will have a good dual record, 12-3 or so.
6th in the big ten; top three in their weight - Zeke; Taylor; Medberry; with outside shot RR; JT
NQ - 7-9
14-17th in the NCAA; AA Taylor; Jordan; Medberry with outside shot RR
I am interested in see the progress of JT and how far he can improve at 33 vs 41.

Anybody know if there is any big matchups at the Navy open next weekend?  I'm talking for the Badgers.

Gutwrench

Don't know about Navy Classic, but thursday is Rider.  According to Intermat, Rider has ranked guys at 133 and 141.  Both ranked around #20ish.

Barring long -term injury to a starter, I think anything less than an undefeated dual season would be a disappointment considering the schedule.  I am not one of the bashers on here but I think my expectations are where they should be for this team and schedule.  None of the "big four" to face from the Big 10.

Comparing line-ups I feel WI should beat NE 9 times out of ten.
