133 - RT vs Dardanes for 1st. This will be a very interesting match, as dardanes is likely similar in strength as RT. Both coming off overtime wins. RT is rolling
141 - Jesse vs Oster of NW for 7th. Jesse lost in the dual on a few scrambles that went Oster's way. He's funky and good on top. If Jesse keeps this on the feet and wrestle the same as he did today, I don't think he should have much of a problem getting 7th here.
165 - Zeke vs cousin Bo for 1st. This will be fun. I have no doubt both will let it fly.
174 - Frank vs Massa for 7th. Rematch of the first round. Hopefully Frank can turn the result around. He's wrestling well right now.
184 - Ricky vs Brooks of Iowa in conso semis. I hate Iowa.
285 - Connor vs kroells of MN in conso semis. I hope Connor is on his A game because Kroells nearly upset McMullan in the quarters. Dude has huge hips. Can't go underneath him.
Overall I think we wrestled very well today. Aggressive and offensive for the most part. Hope Timmy is okay - super unfortunate to take what looked like a serious injury at this time. I could type more of my thoughts but I'm told it's date night so I must go.

Really do appreciate the updates. Just catching up now. Talked to RT he is ready to roll tomorrow. Would love to see a couple 1st place finishes to quiet some of the haters up.
"I hate Iowa"
Doesn't every human being?
So six have qualified? Unfortunate ending to the year for McCall, is there a shot at a WC or is he done with the injury?
I am praying to the wrestling gods Moore and Kelly do not get WCs! Kick the man while he is down!

I would think Timmy McCall has an excellent shot at a Wild Card. He has beat numerous top wrestlers, and beat Atwood at the Big Tens... has been top 10-18 all year.. hopefully he is healthy...
Johnny is out I presume because of limited matches and never ranked... TJ wrestled most of the year at 149 - I think they only consider wins at 157... Rylan might have an outside shot....his two losses at the tounament are to a finalist and a top 6 placer.. not sure if he has enough wins overall though...

True, the only good Hawkeye is an eliminated Hawkeye. But you know, those are two guys who don't act like jerks, and truth be told, most of their wrestlers are just fierce competitors. The jackwagons this year are Gillman, Dziewa, Evans and Telford.
Here's how many medalists (finalists) each team has:
Ohio State 9 (4)
Iowa 8 (4)
Minnesota 8 (3)
Michigan 9 (1)
Illinois 9 (1)
Penn State 7 (2)
Nebraska 7 (1)
Wisconsin 6 (2)
Northwestern 6 (2)
Purdue 5
Rutgers 2
Michigan State 1
Indiana 1
Maryland 2
If McCall hadn't pulled up lame, WI would be up in Penn State territory.
It's not good that there are four teams who shouldn't have bothered showing up. The lack of talent in that large basement makes for a lot of boring dual meets. (Rutgers is better than they showed yesterday.)
"True, the only good Hawkeye is an eliminated Hawkeye."
Love that line! :)
I have to say, the Hawks are not as jerky as they have been in yers past.......... I still agree with your line above however.
Has Taylor wrestled Dardanes before? Curious if they have any history with each other.

This will be their first match.
What time do finals start? I assume B1G network is showing them live?

You are correct. Start time is 2pm CST live on BTN.
Thielke medical forfeits to Oster.
Anybody know what's going on with that? I hope it's nothing too serious!
Hunter Steiber wrestled in obvious severe pain, he's got a bad elbow injury.
The Illinois wrestler, Langenderfer, repeatedly cranked on Steiber's arm during tie-ups.
Tom Ryan, the OS coaching is jumping up and down the whole match, pointing fingers at Illinois coaches.
Hey Ryan, what is wrong with you for throwing a badly injured wrestler out there, you moron?
Steiber held his own for a couple periods, then got pinned. Langenderfer pumping his chest like tarzan. What an ugly display.
Ricky on deck mat 1.
TD for Brooks 1 minute in
Brooks almost gets backs on a roll thru tilt. Short time
Brooks rides out the period. Has 1:43 of RT and 2-0 lead on Ricky. Ricky starts on top in 2nd
Escape Brooks. Still has 1:31 of RT
Brooks TD off a Ricky shot
Escape Ricky
Score is 5-1 after the 2nd. Ricky goes down to start 3rd
Thanks for the updates Drew.
Brooks riding tough. Ricky trying to create action to get away but can't get free. Brooks has almost 4 mins of RT
One last mat return makes it 6-1 with RT for Brooks
Connor up now mat 1
TD Connor and quick escape
Short time left in the first just hand fighting.
Period ends 2-1 Connor. He will be on top
Big mat return by Connor. Still on top 1:30 restart
Can hear Barry in the corner I'm surprised he still has a voice.
I think RT can take Dardanes, I think Taylor wins unless Dardanes can push the pace and get him tired. Dardanes is a pretty straight forward wrestler and doesn't really ever catch anyone.
Reversal for Kroells when corner was going for tilt. Had a 1 swipe
Escape and TD Connor to the back for 2 NF. Score is 7-3 Connor to end the period. He has 1:28 RT too. Will start the 3rd on bottom
Escape for Connor. 8-3 lead now
A TD and ride from Connor here will get the major. 40 left
Double leg by Connor but out of bounds.
Leg attack Kroella but Connor defends. Short time
Quick double by Connor twice on two different restarts but they go out of bounds both time. Ends 9-3
Frank up against Massa now
TD for Massa after a hard fight by Frank. Mass has a leg Turk but Frank gets to his base. Massa with a whip over to a fall at 1:46
They are wrestling some 9th place matches now that aren't on brackets.
Must be to determine qualifiers for NCAAs?
Yes, and they wrestle to the next place outside of qualifying because it is one of the criteria for a wild card. So if there are 8 qualifying spots they wrestle to 9th.
Did they wrestle to 13th at 133?
Never thought RT would be that close to being the B10 champ at 133 beginning of the season. He should be even more confident after that match going into NCAAs.
That was a great match. Dardanes was all over RTs head. Need to make an adjustment for NCAAs but he is right there. Could very well see a rematch in the semis or finals.
Martinez is an animal!
How much flack did I catch for saying iMart by 4? That he was just better...
He won just like I said, he out wrestled him and just like I said Ness went for way too many homerun swings. He almost connected but otherwise was pretty much majored. Ness might catch him at NCAA's but as long as iMart stays away from the big move I see no way Ness beats him. I honestly couldn't believe the way iMart was going upper body with him, I know he is very good at freestyle but that seems to be playing into Ness' game.
BOOM! IJ
Nice match zeke!
Way to go Zeke! Was it 4-2 with riding time? Track's dashboard feature had it a little jacked up.

3-2 because Zeke never had an escape point
3-2 was the final. Zeke had injury time in the third period and Bo had the choice of position and chose neutral. That was a great battle between two great competitors.
Could not be more entertained watching all these matches. Love watching this sport. Zeke was awesome and RT was close. Great job Badgers!!! Said the heck with it and booked to go to NCAA again this year. So much fun.

Did they wrestle to 13th at 133?
It appears so. There are 9th place brackets on track and at 133 all the wrestlers not in the top 8 wrestled.
Ricky up 2-1 on Dudley after the 1st. He starts the second period on bottom.
Ricky close to the reversal but Dudley rides out the period. There was a stall warning on Dudley at the end. Still 2-1. Ricky starts on top in 3rd
Ricky has the legs in and flattens Dudley to his stomach. Trying to erase the riding time. Almost under a minute but Dudley escapes to make it 2-2 with 1:11 RT for Dudley.
Ricky with a low single with a TD as time expires for the win!
Good finish Ricky. On to the NCAA! Go get them!
