US soccer player Kyle Beckerman

US soccer player Kyle Beckerman was a high school state champion as a freshman at DeMatha High School in Maryland.  He also played in the U-17 World Cup in New Zealand that same summer.  He chose to pursue soccer, transferred high schools and no longer competed in wrestling after his freshman year.  His brother Todd Beckerman was a four-time state champion (208-1) and two-time All-American at Nebraska.  Several coaches say he was more talented than his brother.
