Mason Phillips will qualify for state this year.. I watched him wrestle only once this year..

I usually dont want to put the pressure on a freshmond but that Phillips is something else. I had a chance to watch him through JR high and that was not a normal JR high wrestler.

While I do NOT want to disrespect any other wrestler at that weight but I also feel that Phillips will quailify for state and be in the hunt to place.

If you havent had a chance to see this kid, get out and watch him. He is something pretty special if you ask me.

But before I crown him with anything, you still have to wrestle the matches and and he has one on Thursday night and a tourny on Sat so I hope he looks at those as the steps he needs to take.

conventional wisdom would lead you to that conclusion, but phillips isn't a normal freshman.  you'd be hard pressed to find a bigger and more technically sound 106lb wrestler in the state
