Any early predictions on the team(s) to beat in the Little 10 this year? Who are the standouts to watch in the Conference this season (besides Beau)? Any standout freshmen making their debut?

I think Oconomowoc will be fun to watch this year.  I am not sure what WBW graduated, but they were pretty strong last year.

You're right about Oconomowoc. Coony is returning 11 guys from last year's conference tournament of which (6) placed in the top 3 at conference. They will be hard to beat.
West is returning 9 guys from conference of which 5 placed in the top three.
East returns all 10 of the guys they had at conference of which 3 were champions and 1 was a runner-up.

I'm thinking it will be a 2 pony race between Oconomowoc and West and then East/Wisco/Watertown/Hartford will be battling for 3rd.

CLC FAN

Any thoughts on how Oconomowoc will do in their new regional?  It is them, Stoughton, Mount Horeb/Barneveld, and Sun Prairie all in the hunt for the regional title.  Looks like it might be the closest regional in DI next year.  It sure was last year when Stoughton and MHB tied!

Re: Oconomowoc ... it all depends on how naturally the guys match up with weight classes.

Seems they always have 3 guys at the same weight ... so one guy cutting more than I like ... & one guy wrestling light ... at multiple weights - but, if they fill out the line-up like they might ... they will be a force to be reckoned with - and very good ... regardless.

One freshman who should make an impact is at West, Anthony Schlass.  He's a middle weight guy, really good athlete, playing varsity football as a freshman.  He trains with Breske at Ringers.  Has a chance to be best ever at West.

Yes, looking forward to following Anthony throughout his career. Not just a good wrestler but a great kid.

WOW Neutral, thanks for that run down...didn't know anyone out there kept as close track as me  ;D

I am hopeful that East can make a good run for 2nd or 3rd place for sure.  With a new coach you never know, but am very hopeful after watching the scrimmage this past weekend.  The East boys look like they are ready for their first meet at Slinger Invitational this weekend...fingers crossed.

As for West, am very excited to watch Schlass this year.  I have always been a fan and am very hopeful that he will go far this year as a freshman.  Lohr, Goetz, and White will def help them be strong.  I am not sure where Rettler (Jr. this year) will wrestle at but I have always been a fan of him as well.  He will come into his own I am certain.
Children need encouragement. If a kid gets an answer right, tell him it was a lucky guess. That way he develops a good, lucky feeling. - Jack Handy
