Wild one in Regional I. Any thoughts as to what team makes it out? Was this the regional that ended tied last year?

Both Regionals look like grinders. I think Stoughton in Reg.1 & Milton in Reg.2 have to be favored - but Sun Prairie, Ft.Atkinson, Oconomowoc, Mt.Horeb/Barneveld, & Verona will all have heavy influences in Reg.1 ... and Elkhorn, Badger, & Janesville Craig will likewise effect Reg.2.

Let's start with an edit if the current (2/6) rankings.

I know there are lots of quality wrestlers not ranked - so reply with your insights ... and I'll add them to the "others" column.

Realistic top 4 finishers only ... please.

Oconom...belongs with the other schools in that area, there more than enough teams around our area to form a sec...

... probably consolation to Ocononmowoc - so they wouldn't have to travel that far west 2-3 times ... (it would be nice to think they could compete for the Regional Championship ... and have to travel to Team Sectionals at Stoughton). In any case - I think they will show very well ... and leave a footprint. It's only an hour from the furthest schools.

What is weird ... is that they chose to replace Madison East with Oconomowoc ... while Watertown travels ~1hour & 45minutes to Oshkosh North?

For the past 6 years they have been replacing teams out of this sectional. How hard is it to keep all the schools around this area together instead of dropping and replacing 1 or 2 schools every year? I highly doubt it is that difficult.

Any chance Ballering will be back? Has he wrestled more than one match this season? Was he injured in wrestling or football? Just wondering.

That's interesting that he would choose to go 170 with Breske from Hartford at that weight! Looking like he would have a better shot at a state title at 60. Back injuries are tough to come back from though..

There would be some changes in where guys would be on the list based on the 2/12 rankings - but there's only one changes in who's on the list ... and I don't have the time (at least now) to make the changes. Cut & Paste is not as easy within "modify" as it is in Word or Excel.

The only ones that affect weight class changes are:
Skrede - from 132 to 138
Ballering - out *
Schultz - from 195 to 182
(so, probably) ... Hawkinson - from 182 to 195

And - I could have sworn that I saw McCarty at 160 (from 170) last night ... but he's still at 170 according to what's listed now.

NO RETURN: Oconomowoc senior Logan Ballering, a two-time state qualifier who finished fifth at 152 a year ago, will not be able to make a return from his nagging back injury this year, according to coach Steve Olson. Ballering has been ranked in the top 10 in Division 1 at 160 all season. He currently is ranked No. 5. Ballering also lost his sophomore year to the back injury.
