Really tough regional here. I expect the top 3 out of this regional to also be the top 3 at sectionals in many weight classes. Although some may get lost on the trek to Tomahawk.

These are my predictions based on where kids have been wrestling. I don't know who is going to drop on saturday.

Predictions you didn't as for:

State Champs from this regional 5-7

106 State champ potential

1: Ingham  Heavy favorite in this bracket, and my pick for d2 state champ
2: Holzer- Has gotten better and better since season started
3: Peterson
4: Hahn

113 Very Competitive weight class

1: Sowell- Amery train continues.
2: Kromrey- Wild Card/ Upset Machine
3: Delong- Lost to  1 and 2 in OT
4: Wright 2-1 against Kromrey

120 4-5 state caliber kids in this bracket. Not sure why Schmidt cut down. He likely would have won at 126.

1: Gessler- has looked unstoppable and much stronger this year
2: Schmidt- Has had a great year. We will see how he handles the cut
3: Anderson- Doesn't look to be in the same form as last year, but definitely could turn it on and win the weight.
4: Meyer
Hm: Peterson- Has been improving every week. Unfortunately may be a little out gunned against 1-4

126:
1: Berg- Made a huge jump this year
2: Woodhull- I like what I've seen this year
3: Steffen- Veteran who can keep matches close
4: Gartmann- has been banged up. If healthy is a tough matchup for anyone

132: State finals 2 week early?
1: Hush:  State champ odd2 +150
2: Holzer: State champ odds +175
3: Dunnom: Dangerous freshman
4: Follis
Hm: Fleck

138
1: Penn- Obvious favorite. Possibly not untouchable
2: Kirkland- Has ran into Dawson Johnson too many times. Tough wrestler. He will push Penn
3: Jones
4: Fox

144 who's getting second?

1: Kelly- Another State champ from this regional? I think yes
2: Kostrazak
3: White- This freshman will be a problem the next few years
4: Penard

150: DEEEEEP weight here. Feels like a toss up

1: Thomley- maybe?
2: Moniken
3: Hoff- Nice improvement from last season. Strong kid
4: Buckholtz- Could pin any one at this weight. extremally athletic and dangerous

157: Marko show
1: Marko- Under hook pass by: You know it's coming and still cant stop it!
2: Fischer- Pinned Swenson last week. Looks to be in great form and peaking at the right time
3: Swenson- Anyone can have a bad night. He will still be a handful
4: NOt sure?

165: State Champ in action

1: Wasley- Has anyone ever escaped from him?? (I'm joking) He has looked great all year
2:Peterson- Freshman who has made many statements this year. Wow
3: Melton- Cradle Machine. 1-1 against Peterson
4: Roach - lots of horse power

175
1: D'Jock- Will compete for a top spot in Madison
2: Uddin- Fast
3: Ngbemeneh
4: Prokop- state Qualifier in 2022

190: State Champ
1: Ingham: Unstoppable the rest of the way
2: Sardina
3: Petherbridge
4: Not Sure

215: State Champ
1: Ian Smith: Hope he is healthy. Should have another title run in him
2: Stone: Hammer
3: GottWald: Really nice year. Great gas tank
4: Johnson: Seems like heavy weight was a better fit. Maybe he got beat out?

285: World Champ
1: Hopke
2: Butler
3:Bockman
4: Not sure

Love this!!!!  Not too familiar with D2, but do know the studs.

Great post! Missing Holdorf from BW at 150-157. Fischer at 150 pinned Kostrzak 144 not Swenson 157. Kostrzak was winning and hit ill advised suicide cradle. Swenson is clear favorite over Fischer if he comes up to 157.

You're right on. Mixed up the two SCC wrestlers. Holdorf should have been in there as well he is a major contender in whatever weight class he wrestles at.

Would be nice to see Smith and Stone at 190 as well. I'm sure if Hopke opted for 215 it would be more likely.
Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie!

Healthy Ingham is better than Dailey in 2024. Not sure if Ingham is 100%. They are both tremendous mat wrestlers. Ingham is quicker on his feet.

Bold statement. But everyone has an opinion. Dailey has a way of slowing people down on their feet.  Hope we get to see them scrap down in Madison. Few others at 190 that may have a say in that though.

Wis-Mallard

Ingham is ranked #1 by both ranking services so not that bold of a statement.

Yes... the rankings.  Oddly enough WI Wrestle has Dailey ranked a few spots ahead of Ingham in the pound for pound.  So yeah, rankings... Don't look at them.

Like I said.  I hope we get to see them wrestle. Both amazing wrestlers and fun to watch.

Ingham pins with a bar that turns into a half. 😁
