That premise is not true.  I think Iowa pays a lot.  Michigan also is rumored to pay a lot.   Oklahoma State might be paying now.

Quote from: LKing on Yesterday at 07:38:09 PMD3 sectional B.  26 teams and my prediction is over half will have fewer than 9 wrestlers.  The ludicracy in taking a full Coleman team out.  ???

This sectional is still great.

The southeast D3 sectional will be challenged to put out a great team. Northeast D3 sectional has Shiocton and WF, who are two teams capable of making the team state finals.

Quote from: Ledger on Yesterday at 12:54:35 PMAt least this gets rid of the 9.9 scholarship limitation.  Unfortunately programs like Penn State can now load up their roster with 2+ full scholarship athletes at each weight class.

I thought of that too and originally was thinking that might be a good thing but when you consider that wrestling is a non-revenue sport it is hard to imagine that most schools (including the UW) are going to be unlikely to want to expand past 9.9 unless boosters are footing the bill. It will be interesting to see what the roster size limit is but if PSU, Ok St, Iowa, UM etc.. have 30 ish guys on scholarship I can see a lot of programs just throwing in the towel.

Quote from: rankwizard on May 25, 2024, 11:14:12 AMWhere is Colton Hush wrestling?

Hoping the new recruit makes a leap next year on the high school mat. He's got potential to make it in D1. Has to put in the work to make it to the next level.

Mankato state at 133.

Strange but we can take it.
