A set of D1 preseason rankings

I'm working on a set of preseason rankings.. it is some guesswork without knowing where the wrestlers will all go, but it's interesting nonetheless. I'll post some soon.

I am looking at off-season weights and last years weights to put them in weight classes. Whether or not wrestlers like Bast or Casey certify for 106 and 113 respectively is something I do not currently know.

I use head to head criteria and common opponent criteria. Also, just random ordering takes place, since it's only a rough framework and kids know their potential to rise. It's always nice to know which kids are returning to the mats with a good resume.

Awesome stuff! At 106, I think Rugg is going to explode. Since moving to AWA kid has made some huge strides. He's going to be a beast. Not sure of his weight, but if he's a decent 106 size he'll do some damage this year.

I watched Rugg this weekend at PNL and TF Bogard. I would say he's top 5.

I agree, I have Rugg a bit much too low right now. I think I put him lower because he has been 100lbs this past summer. He's gonna shoot upwards... and he only did lose by 3 to the Phenom at the state tourney.

Got spoiled in Minnesota with the Guillotine ranking. Although I have heard good things about Rofkin. But Always someone on the forum in the know...this looks like the thread!

Thanks man. I have the rest done, just didn't have time to post them yet. My list is longer and more Folkstyle -results driven and gives a different view.

I posted my list, I know I have some obvious errors due to not looking at recent tournies in past 2 weeks and not knitpicking through every trackwrestling result. Also, I made a lot of guesses on who will wrestle where when it's go time next february. Wisconsin class of 2024 is strong (and i didn't include my D2 and D3 lists yet).

Awesome!! Well I use to do the same, but not always to the public, just for my own idea of what Sections and State would look like for our guys. So wasn't doing necessarily every weight either. Thank god for track on finding results! Ha! So much work goes into rankings, so really appreciate what you are doing. Statman on the Guillotine forum, does a great job for Minnesota rankings. I am a noob to WI High school wrestling, so appreciate the research you did! Great Job!!! Will be looking at closely!!!

Will be interesting on what they do with Bi State and Clash, with the varying of weight classes. Minnesota down to 13 and I believe Wi went with the 14.
