Mat Light recommendations

Does anyone have a recommendation for a mat light? 

One question is Halide or LED... I assume halide is brighter but is it really that noticeable compared to efficiency? 
I guess they are not turned on all that often either way.

Efficiency? How much more could it cost to operate?

I like sodium halide; but have no experience with LED.

Recommendation:
Don't get one, very hard to see what is happening down on the mat.

Builds drama. I like the mat light. I wonder if the LED option is cheaper.
